Our Teacher
My name is Sinclair Barbour, I started dancing with Bill Clement at Wallace Hall Academy and continued at Edinburgh University.
On returning home, I took over the Thornhill class from Bill after I gained my teachers' certificate. I have taught in Japan in 1998 and 2002, Florida in 2004 and day/weekend schools in Ayr, Perth and Belfast. I am the Washington D.C. delegate of the RSCDS and they invited me over to teach at their Capital Weekend in 2002.
I am currently working at home on a hill sheep farm and also teach dancing at the local school, Wallace Hall Academy. I have taken teenage teams to folk festivals abroad for the past 10 years and we have also been very successful in multiple competitions nationally.
I have travelled near and far teaching dancing including Japan, Florida, Ayr, Washington, Perth(Scotland) and as near home as Gretna.
